Vehicle Technician
We are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join our team in Puckapunyal, located just 12 kilometres from Seymour in Victoria.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing a high level of workmanship in the servicing, inspection, repair and maintenance of Commonwealth owned combat vehicles. These vehicles may include the M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams Main Battle Tank, ASLAV, and M88A2. You will also be responsible for ensuring that work is completed within the designated time frame and achieving safety, environmental and materiel certification standards
In addition, you will:
- Receive training on the various combat vehicles GDLS-A is responsible to maintain;
- Conduct work in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and the Commonwealth’s Land Materiel Safety standards;
- Servicing, including inspection and maintenance;
- Repairs, including disassembling and reassembling vehicles and their sub-assemblies;
Your skills and experience will include:
- Experience working on the Abrams Main Battle Tank, ASLAV, M88A2 or other Heavy Defence vehicles (desirable);
- Demonstrated experience working as a heavy vehicle or diesel mechanic;
- Hold a Diesel, mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade qualification;
- Heavy Rigid (HR) licence (desirable).
Also desirable would be qualifications in any of the following:
- Dogging certificate or Forklift licence; and/or
- EAHL licence 2 & 3 and/or Refrigeration licence.
To be successful for this role, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian government security clearance. Please note, applicants will be required to complete a medical and National Police Check for this role.
